5 albums you should listen/check out for 2009

April 29th 2010 03:54
-Welcome to another episode of "Hollywood Housewives":
And now the news: Angelina Jolie got furious when Brad forgot to iron her new Gucci dress ...
(Angry headbanger rushes into the studio holding a huge... CD-player).
-You have 10 seconds to repent and leave this miserable gossip life or I'm pressing the PLAY button (at this point his inserts Lamb Of God's Album "Wrath" into the CD-player).
-What is this?, said the pink dressed radio producer. We wanna listen to the news.
(Angry headbanger performs a Chuck Norris roundhouse-kick on him that sends him off his chair and straight into the opposite wall's arms.(At this point he presses PLAY and the sound of "Reclamation" fills the room)

-THIS IS THE NEWS, said the angry headbanger (and asked himself from where he remembered his own quote).
He grabbed the microphone and he was ready to make history:
- All you metalheads out there, greetings. This is another episode of "Metalheat" and we present you the 5 albums you should have listened/ check out for the year 2009. Lets begin:
1. World Painted Blood - Slayer. The thrash gods are back with a vengeance. Their best album since Seasons in the Abyss. Everything you know about good ol Slayer is here: Killer riffs, insane, weird solos and a crazy-vocals-Araya. Pretenders to the throne step back. Don't miss 'em on tour with Big 4 (ye ye that little gig taking over Europe).
2. Hordes of Chaos - Kreator. Alright alright so we got another thrash band here. So what? Who can dispute Petrozza's talent? He resurrected Kreator (I wonder if they were ever dead - as some said) and proved that he can still write songs that leave you with mouth opened wide (watch that fly).
3. Faith Divides Us, Death unites us - Paradise Lost. So what do we have here? The pioneers of gothic metal return to their original sound and give lessons to all of their riff-stealers. (hmmm Nick Holmes should defo get some socializing lessons - a friend of mine showed me a pic of him and Nick at a gig...smile Nick smile).

4. Skyforger - Amorphis. What is this? Some sort of divine inspiration? An album that has it all. Melody, folk riffs, a Tomi Joutsen at his best vocaling so far. Finland's best band for sure.
5. Crack the Skye - Mastodon. So these weirdos are back. Hmm overestimated you say? Underestimated you say? Whatever you think you can't argue that the band's new album shook the ground. The definition of genius. (don't listen to their lives though - soz I've been to 2 of their performances they sound awful - I hope it was only because they didn't have a good sound check). "The Last Baron" is just massive.

Ok ok I didn't get your fav album in there. Stop throwing empty bottles of water. Or at least throw full bottles of beer.
Next episode: another 5 albums you should check for 2009 (I forgot Megadeth's Endgame so I thought I should make another list)
